A series of BBL™ BroadBand Light and/or Laser Genesis Skin Therapy treatments will improve the skin’s appearance, smoothing out uneven textures, reducing pore size, decreasing pigmentation spots and capillaries (telangiectasia).

Treatments will improve many of the signs of sun damage and aging including:

  • uneven pigmentation, sun spots and freckles
  • capillaries, tiny veins (telangiectasias) and excessive redness
  • fine lines and wrinkles
  • larger pores and uneven textures

BBL™ BroadBand Light and/or Laser Genesis treatments can also be used to treat other skin conditions such excessive redness, acne and other scars and can be used on the face, neck, chest, shoulders, forearm and hands.

BBL™ is the world’s most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device on the market.

Generally only two to three treatments can improve pigmentation problems and telangiectasia, while 4-6 treatments or more may be necessary for redness or textural problems*. However, a greater textural improvement will be obtained using the Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser*.

Treatments are quick, with no local anaesthetic cream needed. Treatments can easily be fitted into lunchtime, and you can usually return to work immediately*.

*A maintenance program which includes regular BBL Forever Young™ and/or Laser Genesis treatments and the application of a medical grade skin care program will help maintain the desired results.

*Note results vary from patient to patient

Frequently Asked Questions

BBL™ BroadBand Lightis the world’s most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device on the market, using a broad spectrum of light to treat pigmentation spots and sun damage, capillaries (telangiectasia) and diffuse redness such as excessive redness, as well as improving pore size and skin texture.

All areas of the body can be treated with BBL, with the commonest areas being the face and neck, décolletage, hands and arms.

Usually two to three treatments spaced 2-3 weeks apart are recommended for correction of pigmentation spots, capillaries and telangiectasia, while for textural improvement and correction of diffuse redness 4-6 or more treatments may be necessary*. Once you have finished your BBL corrective treatments a maintenance program with Forever Young  BBL treatments will maintain your skin in optimal condition.

For the best result with BBL no sun tanning or direct sun exposure should occur for 2-4 weeks prior to treatment, and apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or more to the treatment area. A medical grade skin care regime will prepare the skin for treatment, enhance treatment results and lower the risks of post-treatment complications

Do not apply fake tan 1 week prior to treatment.

BBL treatments give a warm sensation. You will not need topical local anaesthetic or any medication.

After the treatment, you need to rest and not exercise for 1-2 days, and avoid heat or sun exposure.

*You will experience mild redness or puffiness for a few hours after the treatment, and may also get bruising after the treatment. *Some patients can return to routine activities (including work and social events) the same day, while some require a few days off, so we recommend having the treatment on Friday and then returning to work on Monday.

It is important to wear sunscreen and avoid significant sun exposure for at least one month after BBL treatments. Do not have any other treatments in the area for at least 2 weeks. Medical grade skin care both before and afterwards will also minimise this risk and help achieve the best possible result.

*Note results vary from patient to patient
