hair-removalLaser hair removal is the most effective method of providing permanent or long-lasting hair removal, and is faster and less painful than other techniques.

A laser is a concentrated form of light that is absorbed by specific parts of the skin, with different lasers being used to treat different problems in the skin. Technology for permanently reducing hair growth has advanced significantly in recent years.  So if you are seeking IPL laser hair removal in Sydney, Infinity Skin Clinic in Mosman can offer a yet more advanced, safe and effective hair removal system.  We use a Candela GentleLase (Alexandrite) Laser, which utilises the most cutting edge hair removal technology available today. – the light from the laser is preferentially absorbed by the pigment located in the base of the hair follicle, damaging the hair follicle and impeding hair regrowth. The special hand piece protects the skin from damage by cooling the skin during treatment.

Laser hair removal is suitable for most skin types, but works best on patients with light skin and darker and coarser hair. Most areas of hair growth can be treated, including the face, underarms, legs arms, bikini line, abdomen, nipples, chest and back.

hair-removal2The laser hair removal method is only effective on hair follicles that are in the active growth phase (anagen), with only 20-30% of hair follicles being in this phase at one time. Several treatments are therefore necessary, with these treatments spaced approximately six weeks apart. *On average 4-6 treatments are necessary for optimal results, as found in our experience treating Sydney patients.

Once you begin the laser hair removal treatments using depilatory wax or plucking is not a good idea because pulling the hair from the follicle works against the principles of laser removal. However you can use other methods like shaving or depilatory creams to achieve a hair-free appearance between laser treatments.
