Blepharoplasty Surgery

Depending on what is required blepharoplasty can be performed under local or general anaesthetic and as a day surgery procedure or over-night stay in our surgery in Sydney. *There is some temporary bruising and swelling, lasting about two weeks, with some patients experiencing temporary blurring or tearing. *Most patients return to work in 7-14 days.

Incisions

For upper eyelids, incisions are often made along natural creases; for lower eyelids, incisions are typically below the lash line or within the lower lid

Tissue Adjustment

Removal or repositioning of fat deposits, tightening of muscles and removal of excess skin.

Closure

Eyelid incisions typically are closed with sutures or skin glue. Sutures are removed within one week.

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is often combined with a browlift (browplasty) or a facelift (rhytidectomy) to address the lower part of the face and neck as well.

If you are not ready for surgery, Halo, Profractional laser resurfacing or Ultraformer III skin tightening treatments may be a suitable option for you with less downtime than surgery.

Dr Cope is a proud member of the below medical societies:

Upper eyelid surgery is a procedure performed under local anaesthetic, and may provide results with minimal downtime – most patients return to work within a week.
