The Halo™ is the world’s first Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL), which delivers non-ablative (1470nm) and ablative (2940nm) wavelengths to the same treatment zone to maximize clinical results and minimize downtime – the treatment is more effective with less downtime compared to other traditional non-ablative lasers.

The Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser restores ageing skin, improving the skin’s tone and texture, tightening the skin and improving wrinkles, as well as removing unsightly brown pigmentation spots. This laser is only available at medical practices.

Halo Fractional Laser – 3

The Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser is used to treat the face, neck, décolletage and the back of the hands. It is also now the treatment of choice for acne scars, and unlike BBL™ BroadBand Light, can be used on all skin types including Asian and darker skin.

The Halo™ is the world’s first Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL), which delivers non-ablative (1470nm) and ablative (2940nm) wavelengths to the same microscopic treatment zone to maximize clinical results and minimize downtime.

Unlike laser resurfacing with ablative lasers, such as erbium or CO2 lasers, which peel off the skin’s top layers, the Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser works by treating a fraction of the skin’s surface (approximately 20-25% per treatment)  – microscopic points of light penetrate the skin’s surface, with each spot surrounded by healthy tissue, allowing rapid healing, stimulating collagen production after the treatment.

The skin’s appearance is improved with each and every treatment session. Usually there are 2-3 treatments which are spaced 4 weeks apart*, with Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser often being combined with BBL™ BroadBand Light for additional improvement in pigmentation spots. The improvement continues for weeks to months after treatment, as continued collagen production and remodelling occurs*.

Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser treats a range of conditions including

  • dark pigmentation spots and sun damage, including melasma (pigmentation of pregnancy)
  • fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and lips
  • improvement of skin tone and texture on the face & neck, décolletage and back of the hands
  • acne scars
  • surgical scars & stretch marks

Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser treatments are performed using a topical local anaesthetic cream and the treatment usually takes about 20-30 minutes.

After the treatment, your skin will feel like you have a mild sunburn for 1-2 hours*, though you can apply makeup and shave immediately after the treatment.

You may experience mild redness or puffiness for a few days after the treatment, a bit like windburn when you ski*.

Some patients can return to routine activities (including work and social events) the same day, while some require 1-2 days off*, so we recommend having the treatment on Friday and then returning to work on Monday.

The Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser is a non-ablative laser offering highly predictable results, giving significant improvement in acne and surgical scars, fine lines, pigmentation problems, and textural improvement on the face, neck, décolletage and backs of the hands.

The Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser treats a range of conditions, including wrinkles, dark pigmentation spots and sun damage (Including melasma). The Halo™ laser improves skin tone and texture on the face & neck, décolletage and back of the hands, and is the best laser for treatment of acne scarring, surgical scars and stretch marks.

The most common areas are the face & neck, décolletage and back of the hands, although anywhere on the body can be treated.

Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser works by treating a fraction of the skin’s surface (approximately 20-25% per treatment) – microscopic points of light penetrate the skin’s surface, with each spot surrounded by healthy tissue, allowing rapid healing, stimulating collagen production after the treatment. The improvement continues for weeks to months after treatment, as continued collagen production and remodelling occurs.

After Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laseryou need to avoid significant sun exposure for at least one month to minimise the chance of pigmentation change in the skin after the procedure – this is easier in the winter months.

Usually there are 2-3 treatments which are spaced 4 weeks apart, with Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser sometimes being combined with BBL for additional improvement in pigmentation spots or melasma.

For the best result with Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laserno sun tanning or direct sun exposure should occur for 2-4 weeks prior to treatment, and apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or more to the treatment area. A medical grade skin regime is required for all treatments for one month before the treatment to prepare the skin for treatment, enhance treatment results and lower the risks of post-treatment complications

Do not apply fake tan 1 week prior to treatment. If you have a history of cold sores then you need to take a 4-day course of Valtrex starting the day before the surgery.

Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser treatments feel like a hot, prickly feeling.

Topical local anaesthetic will be applied before theHalo™ treatment, which minimises this sensation, and cold air is blown onto the skin during the treatment, which also helps. Most people manage without pain medications, but some people take Panadol or other medications before the Halo™ treatment.

After the treatment, your skin will feel like you have a sunburn, though you can apply makeup and shave immediately after the treatment. You need to rest and not exercise for 1-2 days, and avoid heat or sun exposure.

*You will experience mild redness or puffiness for a few days after the treatment, a bit like windburn when you ski.

*Some patients can return to routine activities (including work and social events) the same day, while some require a few days off, so we recommend having the treatment on Friday and then returning to work on Monday.
